I believe that my academic and professional experience in the field of architecture has equipped me with the foundational knowledge and skills needed to become a successful digital product designer.
DESIGN THINKING IN ACADeMIA
[Research] Understand the site's historical and physical attributes through site and precedent analysis to discover its needs.
[Conceptualize] Develop a "problem statement" through iterative diagramming and modeling.
[Develop] Evolve simple drawings into detailed designs, similar to wireframing.
[Present] Craft a presentable design board to showcase research, process, and methodology.
PROFESSIONAL practice is COLLABORATIVE
[Collaborate] Work closely with project managers and peers to ensure that the design is properly translated from sketches to 3D model.
[Coordinate] Communication with consultants and engineers to ensure they understand project intent, scope, and proper documentation of drawings.
[Systems thinking] BIM (Building Information Modeling) requires a global systems understanding in order to effectively model and document the building design.
